Works on ramps from EastLink to Monash Fwy

Works on ramps from EastLink to Monash Fwy
from Tuesday 31 October 2017 for approximately six months.

These works are being conducted as part of the Monash Freeway Upgrade project.

We have been advised by the Monash Freeway Upgrade project that works will be undertaken on the three ramps leading from EastLink to the Monash Fwy, from Tuesday 31 October for approximately six months.

The following ramps will be affected by these works:

  • the ramp from EastLink inbound (northbound) to Monash Fwy inbound
  • the ramp from EastLink outbound (southbound) to Monash Fwy inbound
  • the ramp from EastLink outbound (southbound) to Monash Fwy outbound.

The works will be largely completed behind safety barriers, with some lane closures and occasional ramp closures. These closures will be scheduled to minimise disruption to motorists and advance notice will be provided. Please observe digital message signs for the latest details about closures.

The rest of EastLink will be unaffected by these works.

The purpose of these works

The Monash Freeway Upgrade project has advised us that these works are to install ramp signals to regulate traffic flow on the Monash Fwy. The ramps will be widened to increase vehicle storage, preventing any queueing onto EastLink. New travel time information signs will be installed to give motorists information about the length of time they can expect to be on the Monash Fwy to particular points.
